Assemblymember Dr. Akilah Weber Seeks to Better Prepare Students for College Success With the Passage of AB 914

For immediate release:

SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Akilah Weber issues the following statement on AB 914, which passed out of the Senate unanimously (39-0):

“It is critical that we identify any barriers that would jeopardize a student’s success while attending one of California’s prestigious college campuses. AB 914 will require the California State University to submit an annual report that summarizes data on completion rates, credits earned, and GPA during a student’s first three semesters.  This data will help the Legislature determine how to improve college readiness programs and close long-standing equity gaps across the CSU system.

“Thank you, Senator Dahle, for presenting AB 914 on my behalf, and thank you to Senate colleagues for your consideration and passage of this important bill.”
