Join Assemblymember Dr. LaShae Sharp-Collins and a panel of justice reform advocates, legal experts, and community leaders for a virtual discussion on Assembly Bill 1279, legislation that prohibits a prior juvenile adjudication does not count as a prior “serious” or “violent” felony under the Three Strikes sentencing law and creates pathways for individuals currently serving enhanced sentences based on juvenile strikes to petition the court for resentencing.
This bill represents a major step toward restoring fairness, promoting rehabilitation, and aligning California’s laws with the principles of juvenile justice.
