State Assembly Celebrates Black History Month
(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Dr. Shirley N. Weber (D-San Diego), Vice-chair of the California Legislative Black Caucus, helped lead the State Assembly in a special ceremony to celebrate Black History Month. A video depicting 50 years of CLBC history was played and Assembly Concurrent Resolution 6, a measure that recognizes the month of February 2017 as Black History Month and encourages the people of California to recognize the many talents, achievements, and contributions that African Americans make to their communities, was approved. “The history of African-Americans in this country is a history of persistence and resiliency,” said Dr. Weber. “Persisting forever to bring about the beauty of the Constitution and the rights of every American.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
