(Sacramento) – With an eye on a more equitable education funding structure for African-American students in California, the California Legislative Black Caucus is pressing for passage of Assembly Bill 2635, which will secure additional educational funding for African-American students by fixing a fundamental flaw in the state’s educational budget known as the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). "We cannot look the other way anymore. African-American kids in California persistently fall behind academically," Assemblymember Shirley Weber said. "Providing additional resources for the lowest-performing students is now no longer an option, but a necessity.” Learn more about AB 2635 and the LCFF in this Assembly Access video.
